Michigan Xtreme will launch a new membership structure for the Bronze & Silver Programs starting August 1, 2010.
“We recognize the challenge most parents face supporting their young athletes desires to play multiple sports,” say’s co-owner Tom Bennett. “As a dad of five school age boys, I completely understand the time management struggle getting my boys exposure and training in other sports such as soccer, baseball, football, etc, as well as wrestling; but also, how to manage it all financially.”
Fortunately or unfortunately today, many young athletes have narrowed their choice of activities down to one or two by the time they reach high school. Therefore, it is even more important to gain exposure to several sports and activities from the ages of 4 to 14 to assist them in discovering their own unique God given talents.
Michigan Xtreme recognizes the need for the Elementary & Middle School age athletes to have the flexibility to start and stop training in one sport for the opportunity to play another. For example, a middle school wrestler may play football (Sept-Oct), wrestle at Xtreme (Nov-Dec), school wrestling (Jan-Feb), wrestle at Xtreme (Mar-Apr), baseball/soccer (May-Jun), wrestling at Xtreme (Jul-Aug) as a possibly activity training schedule. An (8) eight week membership provides the flexibility necessary to support and encourage participation in multiple sports/activities and the annual membership was lowered to accommodate the your round training needs of those who can juggle and work the extra practices into their daily family schedules.
To better serve the need of these younger athletes, Michigan Xtreme is launching the following session/cost structure effective August 1, 2010:

2010 Chase your Dreams Wrestling Camp

ITS HERE! In less then one week, Michigan Xtreme will host the 7th Annual “Chase your Dreams” wrestling camp. The camp will be lead by National Wrestling Coach of the Year Roy Hall. Assisting Hall will be 4X MHSAA State Champion Kyle Waldo and 3X MHSAA State Champion and 2010 NCAA All American Ben Bennett.
Coach Hall has had a profound impact on many athletes. He has coached two athletes that have gone on to win NCAA titles!
“Roy Hall is the foundation of my career,” said Brent Metcalf, a four-time, undefeated (228-0) state champion and two time NCAA Champion at Iowa. “He built who I am, built my attitude, the way I approach wrestling, the way I approach life.
The three day intensive camp kicks off Friday, July 23 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. All session will take place at the Michigan Xtreme Training Center which is located at 3494 Plainfield Ave, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.

Allegan Wrestler Receives Michigan Xtreme Scholarship Foundation Award

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - June 28, 2010
Colin Smythe (Allegan, MI) is the recipient of the Annual Michigan Xtreme Scholarship Foundation Award. Colin will receive $1,500 to apply toward his college education at Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL) in the fall of 2010.
Graduating in the top twenty percent of his class with a 3.6 GPA, a 3x State Qualifier with 165 career victories in wrestling, the Allegan High School graduate was selected for the award due to the humanitarian impact upon his life as a student athlete, his commitment to helping young athletes, and his specific plans to contribute toward the sustainability and growth of the sport of wrestling in America.
The Michigan Xtreme Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit entity created by Michigan Xtreme, LLC which is a nationally recognized training system dedicated to the sport of wrestling and committed to the development of student athletes. Michigan Xtreme, LLC has training center locations in West Michigan, Southwest Michigan and Northeast Indiana.
Charitable contributions to support the Michigan Xtreme Scholarship Foundation are appreciated. 2010 College Showcase Camp

Camp includes all meals, Xtreme T-Shirts and overnight accommodations (bring pillow, sleeping bag).
Camp also includes creating and distribution of your college recruiting profile. • Campers can elect to commute.
Cost: $175 (pre-registration required)
Camp is open to all HS Wrestlers! The camp will include (6) 2 hours sessions each facilitated by a coach from a college program. This is a great camp if you have plans to continue your wrestling career in college at any level. The six college coaches/clinicians at the 2nd Annual College Showcase Camp are Mark Manning-Nebraska, Derek DelPorto-Eastern Michigan, Dan Mizener-John Carroll, Mike Ester-Trine, Glen Lanham-Purdue and Mark DiSalvo-Central Michigan. Expect to learn about the college recruiting process, current technique being used at the college level, and what it takes to be a college wrestler in D1, 2 or 3.

The 16,000 sq. ft. facility is located at 6387 Technology Avenue, Suite C, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.

RECORD YEAR AT STATE FINALS

Xtremer’s set yet another record breaking year at The 2010 MHSAA STATE FINALS held at The Palace of Auburn Hills!
79 wrestlers who have trained at Michigan Xtreme at it’s off-season, in-season and/or year round training facility or participated in one of many the high level training camps or clinics…stepped on the podium to capture ALL-STATE honors!
All of these wrestlers are forever a part of the history of Xtreme and to recognize their contributions to raising the bar and living the moto “TRAIN WITH THE BEST TO BE THE BEST.” Their names will be added to the prestigious list of now 270 HALL OF FAME MEMBERS!
Of this years 79 All-State wrestlers, 15 were crowned STATE CHAMPIONS….while Tyler Keselring and Jackson Morse became 3x State Champions; Chris Brown, Jake Dorulla and Devin Pomerenke earned status as 2x State Champions!
Best wishes to all those Xtremer’s heading off to Fargo Nationals, Senior Nationals and College Careers next season!
All senior Xtremer’s are eligible and encouraged to apply for the Annual MX Scholarship as well which will be awarded in June 2010. In addition, all Xtreme Alumni are awarded a lifetime membership to train at any one of Xtreme’s four locations!
INDIANA XTREME

On Thursday, April 1st Michigan Xtreme will kick-off a new training center at an “interim” Fort Wayne, Indiana location!
The Indiana Xtreme Wrestling Training Center will launch with a 7-Month “Off-Season” from April through October. Membership opportunities at the Indiana Xtreme Training Center will include the GOLD program on Sunday & Wednesday’s from 7:00pm-8:30pm and the SILVER program on Monday & Thursday’s from 7:00pm-8:30pm. “Tuesday Night Clinics” will also be offered at the center to include several star studded guest clinicians of past State Champions, NCAA current and past All-American wrestlers and other college wrestlers and coaches.
The training and instruction at Xtreme is comprehensive and is specifically designed for establishing a strong foundation of advanced drilling, high-level scoring techniques, team building, and mental preparation. We believe that there are absolutely no substitutes for focused instruction, competitive mentoring, and consistent training.
We are focused on our vision of teaching a mentality that will attribute to success in the sport of wrestling and life. This plan is one that will evolve over time and while working together with area coaches, wrestlers, clubs and teams, we will succeed in raising the level of wrestling in Indiana for many years to come.
Training center will be free to all current college wrestlers and previous HS State Champions. Membership is good at all Xtreme training centers locations in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo and Fort Wayne. “Train With The Best To Be The Best.”
Effective July 2011, Indiana Xtreme will participate in the MX Scholarship Foundation.
